The MD-1 bridge is a 633-metre-long structure crossing the Odra River in Racibórz, constructed using the incremental launching method. Hunnebeck Polska supported the project by supplying infrastructure solutions for the casting-bed section. The modular INFRA-KIT infrastructure system formed the basis for the repetitive concrete casting and launching operations.
The construction of the MD-1 bridge using the incremental launching method placed particularly high demands on the temporary infrastructure. The casting-bed section had to reliably withstand substantial loads generated during repeated concreting cycles while maintaining precise geometry and alignment throughout the launching process. At the same time, the system needed to support efficient workflows and frequent operational sequences without compromising safety.
Additional complexity arose from the tight construction schedule and the requirement for consistent performance over the entire project duration. Any loss of stability, adaptability or safety could have had a direct impact on progress. The challenge was therefore to provide an infrastructure solution that combined strength, flexibility and reliability under continuously changing site conditions.
Hünnebeck’s INFRA-KIT infrastructure system proved to be a dependable and high-performing solution throughout the project. Its robust load-bearing capacity ensured a stable and secure casting-bed foundation during all concreting and launching phases. The modular design allowed the system to be efficiently adapted to the construction sequence, supporting smooth and repeatable operations as the bridge advanced segment by segment.
Equally important, INFRA-KIT contributed to safe and well-organised working conditions on site, enabling construction teams to carry out their tasks with confidence and efficiency. The reliability and adaptability of the system supported steady project progress and played a key role in driving the MD-1 bridge construction toward its successful completion.
